Why am I so excited about the Galactic Cats series?

I have to admit, at one point, I was terrified of cats. Then my parents brought one home. A vicious siamese cat they named Shere-Khan. For those who read 'The Jungle Book' you know the cat was named after the man-eating tiger. Not a good beginning. To say I fell in love with that cat was an understatement. I don't think I ever heard him purr, but he grabbed my heart. Before I went to bed, I'd steal him from my sister's room so he'd sleep with me. He loved licking frosting off cupcakes, black licorice, and especially lamb. The first cat I adopted for my very own, I named KC (Killer Cat) another vicious Siamese cat, but he wrapped his claws around my heart. I don't think I could've loved that cat more. He moved from Austin to Los Angeles with me. KC was a favorite at Encino Vet Clinic because I boarded him there when I traveled. When I finally had to put him to sleep, the vet's office sent me flowers the next day. Those were the two cats who inspired me to write the character of VIC. Vicious, but loving. More to follow.
